Overnight Lodging
Housing and Residence Life is available to assist with all needs associated with the overnight stay. Duty phone numbers are posted on the entrances to the residence halls.
What to Bring
- Photo ID (needed for check-in)
- Laptop or tablet for course registration (if possible)
- Limited computers available on-site — bringing your own device speeds up registration
- Borrow a device if needed; smartphones are not recommended for registration
- Don’t forget chargers
- Items for the Overnight Stay
- Linens are not provided — bring towels, pillows, and Twin XL sheets/blankets (or a sleeping bag)
- Linens will be available if traveling from out-of-state or if forgotten
- Bring toiletries, hygiene items, and medications
- Residence hall has community bathrooms
- Optional: snacks, board games, or cards for evening programming
- Weather & comfort items
- Umbrella
- Comfortable shoes
- Light jacket (indoor spaces may be cold)
- Unofficial college transcripts and test scores
- Optional — useful if official documents have not yet been processed
- Refillable water bottle
- Most campus fountains have bottle‑filling stations
- Items for the Overnight Stay (1.5‑day summer programs only)
- Linens are provided:
- 2 flat sheets
- 1 blanket
- 1 pillow + pillowcase
- 1 body towel
- 1 hand towel
- 1 washcloth
- Guests may bring additional items for comfort
- Bring toiletries, personal hygiene items, and medications
- Residence hall is traditional style with community bathrooms

- Comfortable shoes
- Light jacket (indoor spaces may be cold in summer)

Placement Information
An important part of preparing for your orientation program is taking placement tests. The tests you need to take are determined by your selected major. Placement tests are necessary to make sure you enroll in the appropriate first course in certain subject areas for the first semester in your major.
Placement tests must be completed before your scheduled orientation program, and the available tests are as follows: Chemistry, Computer Science, Language, and Music Theory.

More than 40 campus programs, services, and select off-campus groups will host tables for students and guests to explore available resources. We strongly encourage participants to attend!
